An Interview / audition can be arranged in order to assess the students needs and discuss a suitable learning program and possible lesson arrangements

The Academie studio is located in Surrey Hills, drawing students from Camberwell, Canterbury, Kew, Balwyn, Hawthorn, Surrey Hills, Fairfield, Mont Albert and beyond

Note:  Studio 'face to face' lessons will only be available for students who are vaxxed .... other students may be offered 'online' sessions or as arranged.

  • Classes are traditional with the aim of developing a high level of skill, understanding and technique.

From this traditional skill base, a wide repertoire and choice of material is then available

  • Theory is an important part of all lessons and students work through selected exercises

  • Students are encouraged to prepare for examinations, perform for informal gatherings, at school opportunities and eisteddfods.

  • An independent rapport  is developed with each student and occasionally parents are invited to be present at part of the lesson.  This is helpful so that aspects of the learning process or a particular aspect of study can be explained

  • Students are encouraged to be well organized and to plan regular daily practice. They are guided in different practice and study techniques.  Students must bring a note book to each lesson together with their other materials as required.

  • Tuition is paid for at each lesson. There is no fee for lessons missed if sufficient notice is given.

  • Parents who are courteous and communicative are always appreciated. Contact, is expected as soon as possible, if a student is not able to attend a lesson. Alternate arrangements will be made where possible

Lessons and Fees

Generally lessons are scheduled weekly as 30 mins, 45 and 60 mins although some adult tutorials are held on a fortnightly basis.
